The KU Psychological Clinic has been providing low-cost outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families associated with the University of Kansas, the Lawrence community, and the surrounding area since 1952.
To come to our clnic it is always best to enter from the East coming up 14th street and turning left on Jayhawk Blvd and then immediately left on Lilac Ln. Beginning ay May 20, 2019 there will be multiple street closures on campus so this is the preferred route.
The KU Psychological Clinic is a training, teaching, and research facility associated with the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Program, a part of the University of Kansas Psychology Department. We offer evidence based practice and our students are trained in the latest empirically supported approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Assessments available for ADHD, Learning Disabilities, psychological disorders and full cognitive and adaptive functioning batteries.
The KU Psychological Clinic is also affiliated with the Child & Family Services Clinic which serves as the training facility for graduate students in the University of Kansas Clinical Child Psychology Program. We also have a branch at Edwards Campus that is only for Edwards' students http://edwardscampus.ku.edu/kuec-pc and wait times for Edwards are completely different.
Currently a 2 month wait for individual therapy services, 3 months for couples services (this could vary considerably given therapist and client availability) and 2 months for assesment. Wait times may vary depending on client presentation and therapist availability. Wait time for Edwards campus is 3 months. You will need an electronic parking pass if you are a client from the community who is not a KU employee or student.
